Pottering Around

Pots are a fantastic and practical decoration for all homes. Lindy Evans from Windemere Interiors says there are endless possibilities for pots around the home, either as decoration or practical use. "Pots give a wonderful extra dimension to a space. A pot with a lush, flowering plant or pungent herbs creates fresh life and colour, while an urn or large decorative oriental pot creates texture and interest."

Here are some of Lindy's favourite ideas for pots in the home.

• Use a collection of large pots in different heights and sizes to dress up a bare corner.
• Fresh herbs in pots or flower boxes in the kitchen are practical and look and smell divine.
• Instead of a table runner, place a series of small pots along the centre of the table.
• Use pots as gold fish bowls for a interesting addition to an East Meets West theme.
• A pot with decorative sticks or a dramatic flower arrangement can be a feature in a wall niche with a spotlight.
• Pots can dress up cold and sterile space such as bathrooms and laundries.
• Large pots can make dramatic landscapes for the outdoors. Use with plants or as a water feature.

Cut it out!

Introducing wall openings are a great way to create light and openness to enclosed rooms.

Frameless with simple square lines, these openings between rooms are the current trned in modern homes.  They're easy to incorporate into the home design and add another open plan element to a layout.

With natural light and free flowing air between the rooms, wall openings make areas felel more spacious.  If rooms are without an external window, they will benefit from the natural light and air that flows from room to room.

Wall openings are a fantastic space to introduce decorative elements. There are endless options for decoration in this space and they can become a very striking feature.  In this home, we've installed metal leaf artwork screens to tie in with the East Est theme.  This is in the main hallway of the home and creates an entrance with impact.

There are many unique and creative decorative elements available for wall openings, wuch as bambook shutters and louvers.

New Photography

Loving the new photography done for a home we decorated in North Queensland. These textured balls look great in this "Natural Elements" theme and reflected the laid back, casual attitude of the people of the North. It was hot up there though. Very hot!

Those little touches

It's those little touches that really make a property stand out when you're selling.  In this property we styled, we put this cute little tea set on the kitchen bench.

Tribal Rhythm

We're creating a "Tribal Rhythm" theme in this home, so lots of earthenware pots and earthy, savannah colours.

Award winning style

These pics are from a home we decorated in the mid North Coast NSW that has won numerous housing awards.

We decorated in a resort style theme with lots of tropical colours that for that laid back, holiday feel.

Urban Living

Here's a few pics from a theme we call "Urban Living". This house is on the Gold Coast.  

Contemporary with an Industrial influence, the energy created from this theme is still calm, happy and comfortable without being too commercial.

The use of white as a base with monochromatic tones of greys, charcoals and stainless steel are used to produce a very minimalist and modern home. 

This scheme will last through the years as you can add splashes of vibrant sole colour as you please. Many feature colours complement this scheme and invite enthusiasm and energy.

Naturally Gorgeous!

I absolutely adore all these elements together. It's an eclectic mix of colours and textures but it just works so well in harmony. The blue background is the perfect muted shade to balance the neutrals in the vase and fish and the baskets add texture against the gorgeous natural timber of the sideboard. We themed this  "Natural Elements" and this collection is definitely one of my favourites in this home.
